Re-pointing
As you are no doubt aware, the basic problem with repointing is that very few people enjoy doing it. It can be a slow and messy process with very little pleasure or profit. The natural temptation for the person doing the work is to try and find a short cut to get it finished.

A perfect example of this could be:- not taking enough of the old mortar out of the joints, causing havoc with dust from raking out, rushing the pointing and leaving an untidy and unprofessional finish.

At Pro-Point our approach is totally different. We realize that having a correct and consistent rake is the key to a professional job. All our grinders have diamond tipped blades and adjustable plates which, once set, ensure a constant depth of rake. Guards can be fitted to dust extraction units ensuring that the mess and inconvenience are kept to a minimum. This allows for a safer and cleaner environment.

Pro-Point has a unique system for filling joints. We have small and large machines depending on the size and nature of the project, which allow us to refill all the joints with ease.

The mortar is pumped into the joints ensuring that they are filled from the back to the front. The joints are then finished off by hand to your specification and to a very high standard.

All our employees are trained to use this equipment accurately and carefully. Our machines can also be used to pump other materials such as grout or lime putty for listed buildings (see grouting below).

Grit Blasting

Chemical Cleaning And Paint Stripping

As you are no doubt aware working with chemical can be dangerous, but when used correctly they can be of great benefit. One such area is when cleaning buildings that are constructed with brick and bathstone where 'grit blasting' would be too abrasive. Using the correct chemical these buildings can be brought up looking like new. Where paint has been applied to any construction we can remove it by using an industrial paint stripper and steam cleaner. Graffiti too is no problem for us. ...............
Grouting
Today it can be difficult to find firms to carry out grouting. At Pro-Point we have been offering this service for many years and have been able to cure many problems due to large voids that needed to be filled. We have worked on many projects from listed buildings to power stations. We can pump anything from Hydraulic Lime to Concrete. Stone Restoration

Seeing an old historical building being restored is a pleasure, but it takes a lot of skill and patience. At Pro-point we have trained craftsmen with many years of experience who can hand craft stone to any specification. To date many projects have been carried out on grade I and grade II listed buildings for CADW and English heritage. Full consultancy is available.

New Build Washing

Pro-point has a division of its own dedicated to the cleaning of new properties. Most new buildings get very dirty and covered in cement whilst being built. We have a team specially trained to bring these properties up to a high standard prior to being occupied. We carry out cleaning for most of the major house builders i.e. Wimpy, Barratts, Westbury, etc, as well as many other building firms.
